The ProComm Max is the latest electronics available for our electromagnetic flow meters. It is a fully scalable solution that allows in-field upgrades to accommodate changes in power and communications protocols without missing a beat.

The advanced design separates the converter and transmitter functionality to allow ease of calibration and updates. Each flow meter will now have an IP68 converter installed at the sensor with either a meter-mounted IP67 transmitter or one housed in a remote-mounted enclosure.

This separation keeps the converter functionality (sensor MIND) at the sensor and eliminates matched pair cabling, which means that the cabling is now not part of the calibration. Since all flow parameters are converted into flow data before leaving the sensor housing, the cables are now carrying only flow data which means it can be sent >500’ without degradation. It also means that the cable can now be cut to length for a tidier install.

The new transmitter design couples a backlit display that can be easily read in bright sunlight with a powerful coil drive circuit delivering 250% more power to the coils for better signal-to-noise ratios in all measurement scenarios. Additionally, the modular power and modular communications modules allow for field changes in protocols to accommodate system upgrades without sensor removal or replacement. The ProComm Max is fully a scalable solution that is future-proof to emerging technologies.
