Designed to deliver accurate and reliable measurements in wastewater flow applications, our Submerged AV Sensor incorporates a pressure transducer to measure flow level, utilizing advanced technologies to automatically correct for temperature and velocity effects on measurements, ensuring precision in various conditions.
The Submerged Area Velocity (AV) Sensor, a Hach Flow solution by McCrometer, is a durable 1 MHz Acoustic Doppler sensor engineered for monitoring sites prone to pressure transducer fouling. The Submerged AV Sensor is compatible with Hach flow meters, FL series flow loggers, and AS950 samplers, making it a versatile tool for measuring flow rates in open channels.
The sensor's cavity is filled with high-viscosity silicon oil, which reduces the buildup of sand, silt, and grit on the pressure transducer; it is available in both oil-filled and non-oil-filled versionsmaking this adaptable to different site conditions. The non-oil-filled sensor is ideal for relatively clear sites or where the pipe may dry out, while the oil-filled version is best suited for environments with high levels of biological growth, grit, or silt.
Additionally, the module includes advanced diagnostics, such as capturing and displaying the Doppler spectra, allowing you to verify sensor performance on-site, ensuring everything is functioning correctly before you leave, which provides valuable peace of mind. These thoughtful design options minimize maintenance requirements and prevent data loss, addressing common challenges in flow monitoring.
